Something to suck on on the way down sir?
Mar. 19th, 2007 11:46 amLazy weekend for me which included losing a game of Trivia Pursuit. Hmmm, not good. I did however, make a really nice pineapple upside-down cake. The joy of buying a random fruit every so often is that it forces to bake something with it! Well, we sometimes eat it on it’s own but since the pineapple was so huge and I hadn’t done any baking of a while it seemed like a good opportunity. Mmmm, there’s still some left in the fridge for tonight. Yum yum.
What else? Oh yes, Making Your Mind Up! Which me and James watched and just bitched all the way through it, including Liz Atomic Kitten’s ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ rip off and Brian Harvey’s utterly awful I’m-a-better-person-now-for-running-myself-over ballad. Hurrah for Scooch though with it’s really rather rude campfest (would you like your nuts salted sir?). Mind you, we have nothing to lose do we?! Speaking of which, I salute the many drag queens due to appear this year. The studio might explode with gayness, so roll on May! Eurovision party at my house!
Been whizzing through Comic Relief (taped from Friday so all the rubbish can be missed out) which is good so far. Disappointed at Harry Hill’s re-packaged Burp though, not that there’s anything wrong with seeing his stuff twice. Phil Mitchell deflating never gets old.
Art work, Sarah has just found out that she’s been granted a lot of money to properly set up her theatre company which is excellent news. We’re going out for a drink at dinner time to celebrate. Unfortunately I may be left in the shit when it comes to the forthcoming OfSTED inspection which me, David and Sarah are basically in charge of organising because Sarah might be leaving now she has her moolah. I didn’t sign up for this when I went for this job. We also have a new Registry Support Assistant starting in a month. He’s male, 21 and so I will no longer be the only male or youngest person on the team! Hoorah! Apparently he’s really nice and currently working in
Oh, I know what else we did. We went shopping for Julia’s 18th birthday so we got a few things for her. And I picked up a Super Furry Animals DVD for £1. Bargain. I’ve been listening to my new albums too, of which there are many. I’ve got stuck on Sarah Nixey though, it’s just too too good. I did manage a listen of LCD Soundsystem’s new one too which is very good and my new Robopop compilation. Mmm, electro goodness.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the crazy weather! First it was sunny, then it was hailing, then it was snow and a blizzard. Bizarre stuff. Some of it settled on the hills on the way to work I saw which looked lovely, otherwise, it's back to Spring sunshine.
Just had an email about Red Nose Day. The College made £347 which is good. The weird thing is that Corinne Bailey-Rae was in College that day she gave £20, nice to know she's not stingey.
