Work's driving me mad today. Just because I'm *so* bored and the very few tasks I have don't stimulate me at all. It isnt helped by the fact that on Friday I was doing some proper research regarding my MSc which got me really eager about studying again. Now that's something I never thought I'd say!

Firstly I was talking to Kate from the office next door. She's my age and having similar work thoughts. She's thinking about doing a PGCE in September so we were talking about the mass staff exodus that might happen come September! I got lots of MSc- related email too. Firstly, a supportive one off Sarah at the Alsager library telling me that my application had arrived for Margaret to add her reference. Then I got one from Leeds Met Uni about fee information. That one freaked me about a bit because it's a pricey thing to do, and I wouldn't be able to do it full time. Spread over two years should be ok, and James in all his rational glory figured out that it'd only be just over £100 a month which sounds a lot better than thousands of pounds!

I also got an email from the course leader who was most enthusiastic about me doing the course. I'd asked her about placement opportunities within the course and explained my situation. Although they don't do formal placements there seem to be a lot of outlets for work. She suggested the Leeds Met Uni and Leeds Uni (which were my first ideas) and said that they take on casual and part-staff on quite regularly so I'll contact them. She also said that I could go on the public libraries relief register and that occasionally employers contact the university asking for postgrads. So they seem like, if I work at it there will be plenty of opportunities for me. The whole thing made me feel much better really.

On Friday night me and James went out for a meal at Sam Houstan's. We should do that more on Friday nights. It's just when you need a good burger! But it was nice and we talked about a lot of stuff :) Over the weekend we caught up on Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty as well as getting to the last disc of West Wing Season 2 - oh it's so good! It's upsetting that most of the TV we've been watching has nearly finished for the year but they've been great. Thankfully Medium is back now so that'll keep us busy!

Other than having a theatre rehearsal not a lot else was done. I'm reading in at the moment which is much more fun! We went to James old house for a little on Sunday.

I finally got Rufus Wainwright's 'Release the Stars' which I've only listened to once but I'm enjoying it. It's such a grand album, full of interesting little instrumental sounds, traditional ones too which makes for a refreshing change. It's also at Number 2 in the UK album charts! WTF?! I guess he's been doing a lot of press for it. Way to go the slooooow British public! I got the Bis Best-Of too complete with DVD which I'll have to watch fully at some point. I miss them!

EDIT: I forgot to mention my crumble that I made yesterday. While in Tesco I saw that the beloved reduced section had a punnet of raspberries for 50p so I bought them. Then I made a blackberry and apple crumble and mixed in the raspberries with the crumble topping. Result = yummy! And the joy is we've got the rest to finish off tonight. It nearly makes the boring hell of today seem worthwhile!
