Konichiwa Bitches
Apr. 9th, 2007 09:16 pmI didn't get any eggs! Not even one! I don't usually get them to be honest but really, it's still a little wrong. I think James was going to get me one but he's not been very well and so never made it out of the house.
Anyway, it's been ages since I made a post. I guess I'll have to go back to work (ugh) on Thursday. This was weird day actually. Firstly, I was told that while other people of my pay scale are going up a grade, I'm not. Before I arrived they'd put in an appeal to raise the grade of the other Administrative Officers and it's finally been granted. Mine wasn't put forward because it was a brand new post so they didn't know what it would be like. I'd be fine with this if it wasn't for the fact that despite Sarah being new (in the the job I originally went for), she's getting the rise too, just because it's an established post. So, I've been shafted then. It's just irritating, and annoying. Another reason to go back into libraries then? I need to sort that out actually. I've been trying to compare my course to the ones at Sheffield but their website's not working. Great!
So, the holidays then. I've been loving the time off I must say. Me and James went out with his work mates on the Thursday. Just to the pub but it was lots of fun. Wayne was making me laugh, he knows how to tell a story. And Mel too. Hehe. Yeah, it was nice to go out in Skipton for a change being as I still don't know anyone. The theatre is being most annoying. I wish they'd just tell me that they didn't need me yet instead of me sacrificing three night a week for sod all. Two weeks to go and still no sign of me actually doing anything. I didn't even bother on Friday. I will go tomorrow though.
James wasn't very well on Friday. Stomach bug I think would describe it adaquately. I'm still petrified that I'm going to get it :s Anyway, he's ok, it just means that all of our Easter plans have been put on hold really. Annoying but it can't be helped, and the time off has been good. I've been building lots of rollercoasters as a result!
On Saturday night me and James were due to go and see 'Spirit Of The Horse' at Skipton Auction Mart but as he wasn't very well I ended up going with his Mum! This was alright actually and we both enjoyed the show. It was different anyway. It was mostly horses doing tricks but a lot of it was done really well. It was a mix of people from The Netherlands, France, Spain and Mongolia. The Mongolians were easily the most impressive. One trick had a guy standing on two horses, going round and round, while someone else 'fed' another horse through his legs and in between the horses he was standing on. He'd then have to grab the reins of that horse as it went through. He ended up with four other horses in front of him, all while running round in a circle. Very impressive. There was also other brilliant acrobatics all on moving horses. Good stuff.
Today James was feeling mostly better so we went to Keighley and got a steam train to Bronte country. Haworth is really pretty if not very hilly and the train had proper traditional carriages. It's only a short line really but you get to see chickens and horses and sheep along the way. We had dinner in a Haworth cafe. Naturally I had a giant Yorkshire pudding with roast beef. Mmmm, Yorkshirey.
And now we're back home. We tried feeding the ducks earlier but they didn't seem hungry and we weren't going to waste our expensive bread on them. In other wildlife news (take note Gill), my Dad tells me that the robin is back! He wants a webcam so he can film them again so I'll have to buy him that one I keep promising him!
The only perk I've got from my job is that I've got tomorrow off too. Excellent. Oh, and I've been listening to Robyn a lot. She's the missing link between Annie and Peaches.
