My God what is going on with this weather?! It's been raining for days and they're announcing flood warnings. Does Leeds flood? Or more importantly, do canals?! Specifically canals in Skipton at the bottom of my road?! The trains were awful this morning too. I've just seen Helen who said that she's just arrived into work because her's were so bad. And the office is dead today as so many people are off, it's eerie.
Last night, I went out with James and his workmates. it turns out that I do know Darren from the Alsager library. We just kept saying how weird it was all night because it really is quite bizarre. We were out for Wayne's leaving do and at the end of evening with only me, James, Darren and Wayne at Wetherspoons, things ended in a proper soap-opera style which was quite unbelievable. Part of me often wishes that I could work where James does just because the people he works with are such a laugh but on the otherhand I don't think I could cope with all of the back-biting and drama! I'm intrigued to know what'll happen next re: Wayne though :s the socialness did me good though. We had a curry at the pub and were joined by Janine, Darren's girlfriend at the end of the evening who was making me laugh a lot. So yeah, it was a good night. Too much wine made me really not want to go to work this morning though :s
For some reason I realised last night how little contact I've had with straight men over the years. I mean, at school and College (bar the odd one) I was always friends with either the gays or girls and that's something that continued throughout uni. I didn't have a single straight male friend at uni which is odd. it's only after uni's ended that I've really come into contact with that kind of person which is just bizarre but it's good at the same time. I always used to think that I'd never have anything in common with straight guys but that not really true. It's just funny to think about.
