Friday marked the end (or rather the start) of the whole work re-structure thing, because Margaret left. It was very bizarre and because the everyone in the office has been dealing with their own personal issues the fact that our old boss has now gone is only just dawning on us. Still, the leaving do was lovely, held in the Venue above the BBC Leeds building. Pimms and nibbles were supplied and yeah, it was a good send-off. Funny though, that about ten minutes after she'd left the building Liz was looking at her desk and just said, 'Oooh, bagsy Margaret's scissiors'! Continuing with the, walking-over-Margaret's-fresh-grave approach, we've moved the office around and it's so much better. We've got both doors open so people can walk straight through and I've got a new desk, and I no longer face the wall. It all just feels more sociable. This is good because it looks like I'll be staying here now as I've found out that my course takes place on Thursdays of every week.

This weekend was great. My Mum, Dad and sister came up on Friday night and we had a catch-up, then on Saturday we went to Bolton Abbey (yes, again) but this time we did the whole walk. I think it took the five of us about four hours to do the whole thing. The walk is also a sculpture trail too so we got to see some lovely things. Although one had been vandilised, one was removed for repair and another had been sold so there were three less than usual! I'll put some pictures up at some point. I'll try and get some photos off my Dad too because he took loads. He took one of me and James on the stepping stones which we did too. They're scarier than I thought actually because the deeper the water gets the further the stones are form each other and if anyone was going to fall in it was going to be me. But I didn't! Hooray! We watched a woman and her tiny dog with stumpy legs doing it before us and the poor thing kept falling it. Cruel to laugh at but it entertained a lot of people. My mum had the wonderful foresight to wear flipflops too and had an unfortunate incident with a cow pat, much to everyone's amusement. The cow's were on the beach again too!

I think James worries that my parent don't like him on account of him being quiet, especially because my Mum isn't keen on Jonathan's girlfriend  who she finds 'ignorant' but there's a difference between being ignorant and being quiet and I know my family like him. He copies my Mum CDs so there's no way she could not like him!

On Saturday night we had tea at Bizzie Lizzie's which was nice. I had scampi and then a chocolate, honeycomb sundae thing! Yum yum, although I was gunning for a raspberry dream but some old fatty had had the last one. Grrr. So yes, the whole weekend was really nice and I think James enjoyed it too. It was much left stressful than I thought it might be. I love my family but I think living with them for so long was doing my head in a bit! It's much better now that there's a county or two between us! My Dad rang when they got back to say they'd had a good time. He took a lot of photos while he was here and everyone went off for little walks a lot. It was like a mini holiday for them! I always find it weird that people see Skipton in a touristy way when I've always lived here.

In other thoughts, I was listening to Skin and Skunk Anansie on the way to work today and it reminded me of a video tape I had years ago where I used to tape performances of bands I liked off the TV. It was mostly stuff off TFI Friday on account on all my favourite bands playing there and I think it ranged fro Pulp doing 'Party Hard' in September 1998 right through 1999. I wonder where it went because I must have moved it when I moved here. I wonder if it's inthe house somewhere? I'd love to watch it though. I remember it had things like Catatonia and Rupublica on it. I'll have to dig it out. Oh, also, Robyn is number one! I haven't really loved a number one song for ages now and she really deserves the success :D Darren Hayes is also at 20 which is pleasing news :D Music is good at the moment I feel.
