My new favourite thing

I'm back at work today and Eleanor and Louise have pointed me to this site: http://www.oneandother.co.uk/ which is a live streaming of the fourth plinth project in Trafalgar Square in order to get us through summer. I'd seen that it had started on the news and so we've been checking it every hour. There have been a disappointing amount of people who are either just sitting there reading or (even worse) texting and ringing people on their mobile while they do it. Thankfully, I've been clicking through the people who have gone before and there are some brilliant ones. A woman dressed as a giant pigeon for one. Currently there's a 17 year old girl who has put a banner up saying 'Happy Friday', she's got two bubble machine on the go and she's throwing cake to the crowds, which is much more like it. My other favourite has been a woman dressed up as Brittania. It's quite an inspired project which is very British somehow but also taps in to the creativity of people, something which is, again very British. I read recently that one of the reasons that the British are so artistic is that they're very cynical and scathing which inspires them to create things which I think it very true. Maybe it's the emotional turmoil! So I dare say that I'll be glued to this for the next 100 days! It's a fantastic idea.
